Klaveness is the pioneer in pools, from designing the first-ever concept in 1963 and through 60 years of successful operations.
We currently serve Panamax, Kamsarmax and Post Panamax ship owners through the Baumarine pool. In 2020 we joined forces with major Japanese trading house Marubeni to operate the world’s largest dry bulk Panamax pool, managed by MaruKlav Management Inc, where data insights, machine learning models and analytics are a main driver for decision making and position of the fleet, leveraging on both organisations to improve earnings.
4 years since inception of the JV we are seeing steady volumes and satisfactory earnings paid back to the Pool members. We have developed a range of earnings structures that enable the pool to give high level of flexibility. With the latest global changes in ownership structures, we need additional focus on serving current members and expand to new Ship Owners.
We are looking for an energetic and entrepreneurial individual to develop, conclude and maintain steady relationships with Ship Owners joining the pool.
In the role you will be a part of the Torvald Klaveness’ Dry Bulk Business Unit. Klaveness Dry Bulk is largely seen leading digital operator and pool manager business models in the Panamax market with offices in Oslo, Singapore, Dubai, Manila and soon also Japan. You will from day 1 be exposed to the Klaveness’ overall ambition to Improve the Nature of Shipping. Klaveness Dry Bulk is highly focused on leveraging our competencies to deliver optimized value to our clients through a range of solutions, seeing our future position as an advisor rather than just a counterparty.
Core tasks and responsibilities:
· Develop new pool members, AIS monitoring of worldwide fleet, shipping news follow up.
· Build on and develop a strong sales plan and methodology. Identify insourcing potential through deep sale,
· Communications with pool members, preparation and follow up of pool meetings.
· Challenge the status quo on ship owners’ earnings structures.
· Rating of potential pool vessels with our internal tools, follow up of pool vessels’ description reflecting their actual performance.
· Analytical: monthly pool reporting
· Leverage Klaveness unique capabilities to deepen relationships with our clients to being more than just a pool member.
Required Qualifications and experience:
· MSc. in Maritime or International Business-related fields
· Track record of building clients’ relationships
· Data Analytic Insights
· Previous experience within shipping industry
Additional advantageous skills and experience:
· Experience with Financial/S&P instruments and earning structures in dry bulk or related fields.
· Exposure to shipping markets with a network of ship owners
