We are looking for proactive marine service engineer who are familiar with 2-Stroke & 4-Stroke Engines, Engine Components Overhaul and maintenance, general mechanical dismantling and assembly works.
Job Description:
- Inspect, diagnose and troubleshoot and carryout repair, maintenance or reconditioning of marine engines 2 & 4 Stroke Main/Aux Engines, Crankshaft & Camshaft Replacement and other onboard machinery.
- Carry out removal and installation work onboard vessels and general servicing and repair in the workshop.
- Delegate the job to the relevant team members and adhere closely to the projected repair and manpower plan.
- Lead a team of service technicians and plan, organize and execute repairs, maintenance and reconditioning jobs onboard the vessels in shipyards, ports, anchorage or voyage and offshore.
- Take the necessary measurements and readings to provide a repair plan, estimated repair time, consumables, and raw materials required for the job.
- Keep accurate records of all repair and maintenance work performed on the engine, including any parts replaced or repaired.
- Hands on work in rectification of defects and maintenance of mechanical or diesel components.
- Interact with customers during the work execution.
- Perform internal and external progress status up-dates of the assigned work.
- Assist with the development and implementation of service procedures and policies.
- Monitor service performance metrics and work with the team to identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct training and development programs for technician to increase knowledge and skills in the field.
- Strictly adhere to safe work procedures and applicable laws, rules and regulations.
- Follow safety procedures and use proper protective equipment when working with engines and other equipment.
- Proactively consulting, advising, and promoting available PMax service and products to customer.
- Ensuring an adequate level of cleanliness, maintenance of tools and equipment in the workshop.
- Accomplish all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Marine or Engineering related field.
- At least 5 years relevant experience within the engine overhaul industry.
- Be able to work on board vessel's engine room environment, Shipyards, Anchorage etc and travel overseas for assignments.
- Excellent technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Possess positive and responsible attitude towards work.
- Able to work with other specialists of the same or lower skill level and successfully complete projects.
- Ability to work independently and minimal supervision.
- Ability to create internal and external work reports.
- Able to do overtime and work during weekends and public holidays for urgent repair jobs.
- Salary will commensurate according to experience & qualifications.
