Summary: The Credit Control department is responsible for the expeditious collection of revenue from all customers within the credit terms and period. This includes customers paying from Europe, Americas, etc and any other areas which may be allocated to the Credit Controller. The Credit control department also liaise with some Asia agents on collections they make on our behalf. They are also responsible for recording of disputes and following up on the resolution of these disputes.
Reports to: Credit Control Manager
Role and Responsibilities:
- Timely collection of payments;
- Following up on disputes on invoices and queries and ensuring they are attended to promptly;
- Provide prompt updates on customers’ accounts;
- Preparing of Statement of Accounts for customers and reports for agents;
- Submission of payment details in system when payments are credited in the account;
- Report collections forecast;
- Management reporting;
- Working with internal and external parties – Business units, Revenue Process team, Sales & Marketing teams, customers and agents.
Requirements:
Education, Knowledge & Working Experience
- Minimum Diploma in Finance or related field;
- Min 3 years of experience in credit and control function ideally in a shipping environment;
- Knowledge of credit risk analysis;
- Computer literate, excellent in MS Excel.
