NES Fircroft is hiring for a General Ledger Process Controller to join our client, a global leader in the downstream/energy industry, on a temporary contract position. This position is responsible for maintaining a holistic overview of a legal entity, being responsible for its overall compliance and financial statements. GL Process Controller is also acting as a single point of contact for legal entity related inquiries and audits. Additionally this position will coordinate the period end closing, perform IFRS & LGAAP accounting and analyze the monthly financial actuals.
Main Responsibilities:
The General Ledger team is working closely with other Global Financial Services' teams, Group Consolidation, Business Finance, Regional Finance Management and both internal and external auditors.
• Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of a legal entity IFRS financial statement
• Perform IFRS and local GAAP accounting
• Maintain a holistic overview of legal entity transactions and solve unclear items
• Act as a single point of contact in legal entity related financial topics and answer to ad-hoc questions
• Prepare tax postings and reports for the legal entity
• Coordinate legal entity closing
• Perform interface matching related to GL postings
• Analyse the legal entity IFRS actuals (IS, BS, cash flow) in a documented manner
• Execute internal controls for the process and oversees team member work for quality and process compliance
• Coordinate legal entity internal and external audit
• Identify and initiate automation and digitalization potential in RtR process
Experience Required:
• Deep experience in bookkeeping and financial accounting
• Adequate user experience of systems (SAP, MS Office, HFM)
• Deep understanding of IFRS and GAAP
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Applicable education, e.g. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Knowledge and experience from financial shared services’ processes
• Experience and interest in end-to-end process automatization, e.g. RPA and AI
• Development, proactive and curious mindset
