Buyer
The Buyer role will manage all communication and negotiations with suppliers, oversee all purchasing of components from Tier 1, and higher suppliers, maintain stock levels to support manufacturing and the consignment of materials to the contract manufacturer. This position is part of the Hardware Team, led by Max, Transcelestial’s Head of Hardware Engineering and will also support the R&D, supplier quality, product management and customer success stakeholders for successful execution of business strategies.
As Buyer you will:
- Responsible for planning, buying and expediting materials and commodities from suppliers both locally and overseas
- Ensure on-time delivery of materials from suppliers and meeting quality requirements
- Work towards achieving given objectives such as materials availability, inventory management, stock count, cost reduction, and quality management
What you will bring:
- Minimum Diploma in Business Administration / Supply Chain / Engineering / Related Fields with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of and experience working with Material Request Planning (MRP) and/or ERP systems
- Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese to facilitate effective supplier interactions.
- Must be able-bodied as the role requires receiving deliveries, occasional lifting and physically packing goods to support logistics.
It is a bonus if you have:
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
