Job Overview:
As a Special Needs Educator Aide at our organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support
- Assist educators in implementing lesson plans and instructional materials, adapting them as necessary to meet the individual needs of students with special needs.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, reinforcing concepts and facilitating their participation in classroom activities.
Student Assistance
- Provide direct support to students with special needs in various aspects of their learning, including academics, social skills, communication and behavior management.
- Assist with feeding, toileting, and mobility, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
Classroom Organization and Management
- Assist in organizing and maintaining classroom materials, resources, and equipment, ensuring a clean and safe learning environment.
- Support educators in managing student behavior and implementing positive behavior support strategies.
Communication and Collaboration
- Share observations and insights about students' strengths, interests, and areas for development with the education team.
- Collaborate with the team to implement strategies and interventions consistently across different settings and routines.
Documentation and Record Keeping
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, observations, and incidents
- Contribute to the preparation of progress reports and individualized education plans (IEPs)
Job Requirements
- Nitec or above in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Min 1 year of experience in handling a school of special needs students, ranging from mild to severe condition autism
Working Hours
- 5 days work week (Monday to Friday)
- 830am to 645pm
