Our client is an investment firm focusing on infrastructure projects across Asia.
Reporting to the Finance Manager (focus on valuation), yu are a key member of the Asia finance team supporting the firm and its project portfolio in Asia by providing operational support and monitoring of project performance.
The particular focus of this role will be on project budgets monitoring and expenditure analysis, as well as the collation of financial information for project reporting/mgt reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Forecasting (focus)
(a) Support Finance Manager to provide guidance to the financial analysis functional team in creating better financial information links between project development status, cashflow and financial reporting;
(b) Support the preparation of Business Plan and Annual Operating Plan for the organisation and assist in the review and final presentation to the firm’s Board/shareholders;
Management Reporting (focus)
(a) Assist in the preparation of the firm’s ongoing, quarterly and annual reporting requirements to the HQ, the firm’s Asia board and other stakeholders. This includes preparation and review of long-term liquidity and cash commitment forecasts, and preparation of the various reporting requirements, including maintaining key project statistics, risk exposure monitoring and others;
(b) Support the monitoring of quarterly actual expenses vs Business Plan Budget by departments and expense categories. Work closely with internal teams/ departments to better manage budget on cost efficiencies.
Project and Financial Reporting (focus)
(a) Consolidate inputs from various programme streams, building macros/models to streamline monitoring and analysis of various project costs against budgets and the reporting process;
(b) Assist with review of financial reports submitted by subsidiaries, joint ventures and associates;
(c) Assist with the year-end audit process, including reviewing the firm’s Asia projects for impairment assessment;
(d) Support investment management team/project company teams in relation to project companies’ annual budgeting, year to date spending and forecasts, quarterly reporting and various finance related matters.
Valuation
(a) Support the review of business assumption inputs used in discounted cashflow (DCF) valuation models in accordance with valuation guidelines, including determining/updating the appropriate discount rate / WACC / risk premiums to be used for different sectors/countries;
(b) Provide support to Finance Managers in charge of subsidiaries and group accounts to provide necessary project fair valuation analysis and assessment on a quarterly basis or as and when required in preparing group consolidation, financial statements and annual filings for the firm and its subsidiaries.
Due Diligence
(a) Provide due diligence (DD) support to Business Development team especially on Financial DD and Tax DD. Support in the investment process by reviewing financial information available in both early-stage investments (e.g. financial analysis of partners’ balance sheet) or mid/late- stage investments with available deal dataroom to formulate a financial risk assessment.

Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or equivalent from a reputable university; with Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualifications strongly preferred;
- 2 to 7 years of hands-on experience covering FP&A/budgeting/forecasting/mgt reporting etc
- Prior Big Four accounting firm exp is useful but not a must.
- Has strong excel skills (including V look up, pivot tables, index match etc), with some financial modelling skills (do not need to build models from scratch. But exp reviewing models is required)
- Industry exposure gained in infrastructure/private equity/venture capital firms is not required as long as the person has a strong FP&A exp
- Has exposure to a dynamic and fast paced multinational environment
- Good knowledge of IFRS with hands on experience dealing with overseas entities is required
- Highly detailed and analytical with good financial modelling skills
- Thrives well under pressure, demonstrates resilience and adaptability to different situations;
- Desire to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment is essential.
- Strong communication skills and is able to make presentations to senior management
- Thrive in a MNC environment and dealing with stakeholders from diverse nationalities. Has strong stakeholder management skills
