Role:
- 6-8 months contract
- Reports to Scientist
- Perform analytical work on the various samples from the research project
Nature of work and duties:
- Ensure samples sent to the Lab are processed in accordance with SOP
- Operate the microwave digestor and prepare samples for ICP-OES analysis
- Ensure ICP-OES is calibrated and run based on SOP for various samples under the research project
- General cleaning of laboratory glassware, tools, equipment
- Monitoring and housekeeping of equipment
- Assist officers with preparing growing substrate, planting, transplanting and maintenance of greenhouses
- Perform data and sample collection
Qualification:
- Undergraduates pursuing a Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Soil Science, or Horticulture; or
- Diploma in Chemistry
Experience:
- At least one year of hands-on laboratory experience
- Candidates having experience operating an ICP-OES will be given preference
- Training will be provided
