Purpose of the job:
The Lifting Engineer is mainly responsible to perform the coordination of vehicle delivery activity to site inclusive the transportation from port to site storage until lifting up to the LRT guideway. Support Pre and Post vehicle delivery/decommissioning lifting preparation and coordination activity for all vehicles to be lifted up or down to/from the guideway/viaduct.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation and review (of existing) lifting documents/methods (both transportation and lifting activity)
Coordinate the delivery of the vehicles with offshore manufacturing and review/follow up on pre-shipment vehicle history book and all require vehicle documents.
- Following up on the process of vehicle lifting and ensuring all documents readiness prior lifting.
- To coordinate and arrange periodic lifting gears/tools inspection with the subcontractor/customer.
- To coordinate and conduct lifting resources planning (internally & externally with contractor).
- To coordinate and organise delivery meeting with the manufacturer and operator to harmonize the delivery handshake.
- To coordinate and organise lifting meeting with the customer and operator to harmonize the onsite lifting arrangement.
- To conduct safety assessment & discussion with EHS team (safety) for any latest safety policy and implement the safety requirement when needed.
- To periodically monitor and implement any procedural changes according to the local authority requirement/regulation updates.
- To periodically monitor and execute the lifting work improvement at lifting site inclusive all facilities/tools.
- To prepare and update the lifting procedure, delivery methods and to ensure that all the vehicle history book/ vehicle documents are clearly written and verified by the customer before the commencement of the work.
- To organise/attend customer meeting and/or presenting the delivery and lifting plan.
- To prepare risk assessment prior work commencement.
- lifting planning, weekly/bi-weekly work planning and able to handle critical situation with adhoc changes due to access issue.
- Pre-lifting work planning and follow up with subcontractor and customer.
- Post-lifting debrief and follow up with subcontractor and customer.
- Lifting Resources planning and optimisation.
Relevant experience required:
Typically, minimum 3 – 5 years relevant rolling stock testing experiences.
- University degree/Diploma in any relevant field of Engineering or equivalent technical qualification (for example, technicians/champions) in system-related sectors
