The Role Responsibilities

· Transformation, Technology & Operations (TTO) organisation within SCB spans >40k people and c$4bn USD cost base.

· This role sits within the TTO Finance team to support the Global Enterprise Investment function with business partnering, reporting & analytics, financial control, delivery of best practices and optimization of the Bank’s c$2bn investments portfolio.

· Based out of Singapore, this role is supported by dedicated finance operations support across Plan to Perform (P2P) and Record to Report (R2R) teams who oversee end to end investment finance accounting.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for assisting the Global Finance Business Partner for Enterprise Investments to provide solid financial framework supporting the optimization of the Bank’s investment portfolio on Build and Maintain, simplification and standardization of practices and procedures, implementation of new tools as well as simplifying recharge models. You will be the key coordinator across the bank’s matrix and drive stakeholder engagement as well as common financial craftsmanship within the bank including the necessary reporting, evaluation, and tools.

Analytics and Decision Support

· Provide analytics and insight on the bank wide investment spend to drive cost optimisation and robust benefit realisation in line with bank level commitments. Work in very close partnership with Group FP&A on overall management of the portfolio as part of the wider performance management framework.

· Provide insight on risks and opportunities across the portfolio by working with the relevant business and function CFOs. Work with the relevant investment portfolios to ensure Cash and Opex budgets are not exceeded.

· Support of the execution of finance planning cycles for the investment portfolio. The role holder will also need to ensure recharges are reflected properly and collaborate with P2P/FP&A to develop relevant materials for the MBR and Board presentations.

· Support bank wide prioritisation activity to determine how best to allocate finite resources to drive the greatest value for the bank as a whole. This would include support for the contingency funding release governance process.

· Provide inputs to improve performance management with regard to investment spend and the relationship to BAU cost and activity (Build and Maintain). This would include the evolution of ways of working and methodologies such as Agile.

· Development of the finance tool kits that enable robust finance appraisal and costing for investment spend decisions.

· Development and implementation of the standardisation and optimisation of reporting of investment financials.

Financial Control

· Implementation for finance principles on the end-to-end management of the investment portfolio.

· Partner with Group Technical Accounting team to define policies pertaining to investment spend (for example capitalisation policy for internal software development spend). Regular review and refinement of the global policy, standardization, and consistent application of these standards (e.g., Capex)

· Ensure the effective management of the balance sheet for investment spend including co-ordination of impairment reviews.

· Ensure the effective recovery of investment spend across the SCB legal entity network, addressing blockers and process failings to optimise cross border recharge and settlement capability.

· Ensure that there is adequate process documentation in place of end-to-end finance activity to manage investment spend.

· Work with the portfolio teams to escalate process issues e.g., missing timesheets.

· Liaising with auditors, and colleagues in other finance teams as appropriate.

Change Management & Continuous Improvement

· Support the transition of the current tooling (Clarity) to Planview and ensure that all finance requirements are met as a result of this migration through the provision of detailed business requirement definitions.

· Support the introduction of new controls and process changes required to support the “Run and Change” initiative.

· Support and drive improved data capture in the system of reference to deliver increased transparency at a group level, on the spend and related benefits realization of this spend.

· Work with the portfolio communities to educate on financial best practice.

· Actively contribute to the wider Finance change agenda where necessary and its alignment to the investment finance processes.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

Our Ideal Candidate

· Finance experience of 10 years, preferable in Investment finance, FP&A or financial control

· Experience in cost or investment management, ideally in financial institutions or Tech field.

· Strong knowledge and familiarity of technology recharge models

· Familiarity with the bank’s financial systems and control frameworks

· Certifications in Business Intelligence / Analytics / Digital Finance

Academic or Professional Education/Qualifications:

· University educated

· Qualified Accountant i.e. CPA, CMA, ACCA.

· Business Communication

· Excellent communication and influencing skills, combined with maturity and confidence to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.

· Commercial acumen, with a sense of materiality and decision-making capability.

· Strong integrity, with a high sense of independence and accountability

· Attention to detail and familiarity of SCB Finance systems and processes

· Strong analytical skills and ability to think laterally

· Able to multi-task, deal with fluidity in role and changing priorities in a fast pace environment

· Project Management skills to undertake and supervise/monitor multiple projects
