- Develop and oversee the reporting of stock inventory.
- Evaluate and determine optimal products and suppliers considering factors like value, delivery timelines, and quality.
- Facilitate communication between suppliers, manufacturers, contractors, shipyards, relevant internal departments, and the internal Shipping Department.
- Identify prospective suppliers, visit established suppliers, and cultivate and sustain positive relationships with them.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts, while also monitoring their progress and verifying the quality of services rendered.
- Process payments and invoices following thorough verification and review.
- Uphold the Company’s purchase flow process, ensuring the Shipping Department’s compliance with the process.
- Provide training and supervision for purchasing executives.
- Effectively manage the Company’s launch schedule.
- Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- Willing to head outdoors to meet suppliers/contractors, purchase spare parts etc
- 5 years’ experience in Purchasing function, particularly in Shipping Industry
- Experience in ship docking management
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Cost conscious and good negotiation skills
- With managerial skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- With System integrator experience
