As Senior Vice President and as the first deputy of Chief Regional Officer (CRO) of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group & MD of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Asia Pacific (MHI-AP), he/she will be supporting the CRO & MD for company managements and regional operations.
He/she is also responsible for setting business and strategic planning for the overall direction of corporate department including Corporate Strategy, Finance & Accounting, and Procurement & Sourcing; Collaborate across departments to implement policies and develop improvements in the organization and ensure alignment with the standards & policies of MHI Group.
Job responsibility
Regional Strategy
· Responsible for regional strategy for Asia Pacific region coordinating initiatives among group companies in the region in collaboration with the country representative.
· Responsible for creating synergies between group companies in Asia Pacific region.
· Direct and promote all intelligence related activities throughout Asia Pacific Region, collaborating with management people in MHI Headquarters, MHI’s each SBU and all other related persons in MHI Groups
Corporate Strategy
· Responsible for overseeing corporate strategy and planning activities.
· Develop the company’s management/business plans
· Arranging shareholder/board meetings, resolutions in writing and minutes.
Management of corporate departments
· Responsible for management of the respective corporate functions such as Finance & Accounting, Corporate Strategy and Procurement & Sourcing.
· Facilitate collaboration and promote synergies between the respective corporate functions.
Resource Management
· Lead and develop members in the department (including providing technical advice, coaching, and job assignment).
· Provide mutual support among the SVP, VP, GM and Head of Department of MHI-AP.
Responsible to evaluate performance of the related GM and Head of Department.
Job requirement
· Bachelor degrees related to business, such as management, economics and law
· At least 15-year experience on all of the following:
(i) developing business strategies; (ii) management in manufacturing company; (iii)management in overseas offices
· Excellent Japanese Language skills (JLPT N1 or equivalent level) in both business writings & speaking to coordinate & communicate precise information with Japanese stakeholders in the APAC region / counterparts in Japan HQ.
· Open-mindedness towards different cultures (to interact with parties from various backgrounds as a contact person at the regional headquarters)
· Good communication skills
· Good interpersonal skills and oral and written capabilities, including the ability to build professional relationships with government and other outside organization
· Extensive understanding and multi-year experience on MHI’s corporate practices and culture
