Payroll Manager

JOB PURPOSE:

Oversee and supervise the payroll and related functions for the organization in the Asia Pacific region. Ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately and in compliance with government regulations. Maintain and update pay history for Asia Pacific branches and generate month end and ad-hoc reports.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.


JOB CONTENT (PRIMARY & SECONDARY FUNCTIONS):


Primary


1. Provide day-to-day leadership and oversees the daily workflow of the department.

2. Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.

3. Review staff performance and provides constructive and timely evaluations.

4. Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions across Asia-Pacific Branches.

5. Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

6. Calculate overtime payments and other allowances for the regions.

7. Ensures compliance with government regulations, local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.


Secondary


8. Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

9. Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.

10. Provide other duties as and when required.


CREDENTIALS:

QUALIFICATIONS


· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.


EXPERIENCES


· At least 5 - 7 years of relevant work experience with 2 - 3 years in a managerial position.


COMPETENCIES


· Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, internal control, and payroll taxes.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Knowledge of labour laws

· Good Communication & Interpersonal skills

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

· Proficient with payroll software, experience in using PeopleSoft is highly advantageous.
