Our client is a highly reputable shipping organization based in the heart of CBD area in Singapore. This client has moved up the ranks fast within their industry and has a fantastic name in the market. We are looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join the team. This role provides assistance in financial operations, covering tasks such as creating master records, monitoring cash activities, maintaining a fixed assets register, and managing the full set of accounts and/or vessel accounting for a designated portfolio of entities. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Accountancy with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and recording incoming funds.
- Reconciling bank accounts and revaluing bank balances.
- Ensuring accurate amortization of prepayments and making relevant accruals.
- Coordinating with auditors and tax agents for statutory audit and tax compliance matters.
- Guaranteeing the timely and accurate recording of accounting entries and completion of general ledger closing routines, including the preparation of monthly reporting packs.
- Preparation of GST filing.
- Proactively following up on outstanding issues from previous months to ensure proper closure.
- Handling any other ad hoc accounting-related tasks as needed.
