Sales Director

Incumbent shall be based in overseas domain and is the head of the sales and commercial team in assigned location, responsible for directing and leading all activities related to generating sales for the group. Incumbent will develop, manage, and oversee implementation of agreed commercial strategy, business processes and plans - including route to market strategy, trade promotions, and trade activations. He/she is an individual who is action-oriented and who has an ability to think strategically and who has a passion for tactical and detailed planning and execution. He/she shall be responsible for executing effective sales & trade marketing plans based on measurable objectives versus cost, identify business opportunities and provide tools and support in collaboration with the sales team to grow the company’s business.


Responsibilities

  • Managing all resources of the assigned country sales and commercial department.
  • Responsible for taking control of the entire department’s actions like setting goals and targets, developing strategies, assessing the performance of the sales team, and aligning sales goals with the company’s profitability goals.
  • Design, strategize, and implement comprehensive sales & trade marketing plans to grow company’s brands in collaboration with key stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Develop, implement, and assess the department’s effectiveness, identify errors, and make suitable changes in strategies to reach the targets and goals further, leading to overall profitability, sales, revenue generation, and business targets.
  • Align the sales organization’s objectives with firm business strategy through active participation incorporate strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting.
  • Lead in partnership with various Sales & Marketing sections in HQ to drive the team and deliver high performance.
  • Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume, market share, and other key financial performance objectives.
  • Through active, productive partnerships with Human Resources and Learning and Development functions, incumbent establishes learning and development objectives essential to the sales organization’s success, oversees the effective delivery of training and development programs, actively assesses the value of training and development investments, and monitors learning and development outcomes to ensure high ROI.
  • Establishes and governs the sales organizations performance management system. This includes establishing guiding sales organizational principles for managing performance, establishing, and prioritizing critical performance measures for all sales jobs.
  • Overseeing across all sales channels, markets, and personnel; and ensuring all key sales and sales management associates are held accountable for assigned results.
  • Analyze business tactics, sales strategies, performance analysis of the sales teams, competitor analysis, and market research.
  • Responsible for setting sales targets, determining sales initiatives’ effectiveness, and understanding the need for change. Setting analytical functions to monitor and forecast sales performance. Present analysis reports, presentations, and recommended strategy based on those analysis to the stakeholders. Represent the business communication between the departments and the stakeholders.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks / projects as assigned by Chief Executive Officer / his assign representatives (Senior Management)

Qualifications

  • A Master/Bachelor’s degree in Sales / Marketing, Business Administration, or any other related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of working experience in a commercial function, at similar/higher capacity preferably to have successfully led a team in developing and curating sales & trade marketing strategies on a regional level at similar capacity of Head of Sales / Head of Commercial / Sales Director/ Commercial Director / Head of Trade Marketing & Distribution / Country Manager etc. within the FMCG OR Alcohol industry.
  • The candidate will also have proven and successful relationship-building skills, having the ability to leverage partnerships across the business as well as externally.
  • Strong ability to in making data-driven decisions and be comfortable in working with ROI and metric-driven models.
  • Possess superior communication skills and confidence in communicating to stakeholders from differing background.
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and MS Excel for presentations and reports.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with strong entrepreneurial spirit. Creative and strategic thinker and yet detail-oriented in execution of plans.
  • Able to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a timely manner, be self-motivated and proactive, and display composure and calmness under stress and uncertainty while inspiring the same in others.
  • Possess exceptional leadership skills, being able to move and inspire a cross-functional group, leading it into a unified direction and with a common vision.
  • Manages the teams effectively by aligning the team’s performance with the organization’s sales goals. In considering capabilities of cross-functional collaboration and projects etc.
  • Entrepreneurial - Ability to grow at a fast pace in the current market with strong business senses, creativity and innovation.
  • Change agent - Develop innovative strategies and lead change within the dynamic environment.
  • Problem-solving ability – Ability to identify internal and external challenges resulting hindrances in sales opportunities and solve them critically.
  • Customer-Advocate - Effectively and efficiently interact with customers to identify needs of consumers. Have excellent level of liaison skills and ability to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Good teamwork skills actively involve colleagues across the business, builds the benefits of collaborative working.
  • Able to organize work in a systematic manner, responsible attitude, honest in the implementation of assigned tasks, reliability and committed in undertaking assigned
  • Able to work under time pressure and to withstand stress.
  • UAE OR Europe + Asia working experience highly preferred.
