RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a squad consisting of steel structural designers and draft persons to perform structural design work
- Supervise and provide design direction to subordinates
- Plan, develop, coordinate and reviews team’s work
- Based on Client’s modularization philosophy to perform steel structural design work
- Prepare structural layout drawing, node connection drawing, and related design notes to standardize the design
- Produce and review primary structural drawings, secondary and tertiary structural drawings, typical details, perform material take-off
- Perform design clash check. Participate in design model review
- Prepare team estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly. Estimates staffing needs and schedules and assigns work to meet schedule dates
- Review design documents of other disciplines, equipment manufacturers or subcontractors and prepare comments and recommendations
- Participate in and fosters a work environment based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction
QUALIFICATIONS
- Be familiar with modularized project layout and design, at least having 10 years of working experience on steel structural design
- Broad knowledge of major industry or regulatory standards and design criteria used in structural detail design of Process Industry
- Familiarized with process industry major equipment and its operation and maintenance requirement
- Familiarized with modularized project safety related design requirement
- Having basic steel structural stress knowledge
- Familiarized with modularized project construction and installation procedure
- Detailed understanding of the application of industry standard 2D and 3D design and automation tools, ideally this includes TEKLA Structure
- Understanding of the roles of other disciplines on the project and key information interfaces, including construction engineering related, equipment support, piping support, E&I support and process safety
input - Proficient in MS Office application
- At least a diploma in an engineering or a related scientific discipline, from an college
- Specialized training courses in relevant general engineering on structural 3D modeling
- Broad, progressive experience as a steel structural design on the projects in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG or other applicable sectors
