Responsibilities
- To lead a team in providing academic administration and service delivery in the School. Oversees and implement academic planning and services, career and internship, as well as student affairs in general. The remit of this role includes undergraduate education, postgraduate education and Continuing Education and Training (CET). The incumbent reports to the Chair of the School, and indirectly reports to the Academic Affairs Director of the College through a matrix reporting structure.
- Working in collaboration with Associate Chairs to drive the achievement of university’s education KPIs at the School.
- Lead a team of academic administrators in the school with the responsibility to supervise and coach team members for delivering quality services, provide guidance and training to team members. Develop domain knowledge in the teams and minimize the impact of staff transition on service delivery.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations in academic administration which include admission outreach and assessment, onboarding and orientation of students, course registration, course approval, credit transfer, exams, leave of absence.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations in student management which include student enquiries, care and support.
- Responsible for collection of operational data and information and provide analysis or reports to support school and college management in decision making.
- Engagement with key stakeholders which include faculty appointment holders, faculty, students and their parents, colleagues from college, central offices.
- Ability to identify key operational issues and escalate issues that require attention of the school’s management for academic input or decision making with regards to students’ candidature or fulfilment of degrees.
- Streamline work processes and implement new processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery. Support the roll out of the student management system and ensure staff are adequately trained to utilize the system functionalities.
- Responsible for the launch and management of new ADM Graduate and Continuing Education programs.
Requirements
- To have at least 10 years of experience preferably in the tertiary education sector.
- To possess experience in managing academic matters such as matriculation, course enrolment, candidature and student status, examination, academic results and graduation.
- To have strong project management skill.
- To possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse community and engage various stakeholders.
- To have some experience in leading, coaching, and motivating large teams.
