Job Description – Job Coach (2-year contract) Position will be based at Lakeside.
The Job Coach will support the job matching of persons with special needs into suitable job roles. He/She liaises and collaborates with key stakeholders to identify workplace requirements and oversee placement of trainees into related job roles. He/She will work with the employers to identify required training and accommodations at the workplace for long term continued employment of these trainees. He/She provides job coaching support for a specified duration after the trainees are placed into jobs.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessment
- Develop effective job coaching and employment plans
· Source and secure relevant training opportunities
- Provide support during training
- Assist trainees to discover and overcome their personal barriers and set goals
- Discover trainees’ strengths and motivation, work with them to develop their skills
- Guide trainees in learning to complete job tasks
· Conduct job-readiness assessment
- Profile trainees to employers for suitable job roles
- Advise on workplace accommodations for these trainees
- Monitor and evaluate progress of trainees
· Provide Post-placement job support
Requirements
· Experience in working with persons with special needs
· Strong people management and coaching skills
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Good organizational and time management skills
Experience in managing stakeholders to build relationships and drive collaboration
