about the job
This position delivers technical environmental guidance within the Group Sustainability team, collaborating closely with development and property management teams to improve asset-level environmental performance towards achieving net-zero goals.
responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive low-carbon transition plan and decarbonization pathway for the asset portfolio.
- Formulate strategies and establish targets to enhance building environmental performance across various business units.
- Identify energy efficiency opportunities for both existing assets and new developments.
- Collaborate with Development and Property Management teams to assess global environmental performance (energy, carbon, water, and waste) across the asset portfolio.
- Develop and oversee a green building certification program and renewable energy strategy.
- Provide internal stakeholders with climate change and carbon advice, aligning practices with international standards.
- Conduct gap analysis and advise business units on strategies and action plans to improve GRESB scores.
- Assist in preparing Mapletree’s annual Sustainability Report and GRESB benchmarking submission.
skills & experience required
- Certification as an Energy Manager, Green Mark Accredited Professional, or equivalent qualifications would be advantageous.
- Proven track record in project management of sustainability-related initiatives.
- Desirable experience in sustainability assessments such as GRESB, CDP, and SBTi.
- Familiarity with building life-cycle assessment, GHG protocol, and carbon footprinting.
- Capable of conducting Level 1 energy audits and overseeing Level 2 energy audits.
- Proficient in technical building environmental assessment and implementing renewable energy solutions.
- 7-10 years of experience in a real estate business setting with a focus on sustainability, energy efficiency, and carbon accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in M&E Engineering, building services, environmental sustainability, or related studies.
