Job Description:
- To receive, sort and decontaminate soiled instruments from Operating Theatre and outpatient clinics.
- Selecting the appropriate cleaning method to ensure instruments are processed safely and without damage.
- Inspect surgical instruments for functionality, defects or breakage before assembling.
- Assemble, pack and ensure accuracy of instruments and sets according to specifications and to document items packed.
- Load, unload instruments/sets and ensure safe operation of all sterilization equipment in accordance with established procedure.
- Sterilization quality assurance must be adhered and interpreted to ensure that items are sterile.
- Maintain required documentation for work processes.
- Maintain proper storage, check and replenish supplies and consumables
- Pack and return sterile items to respective department.
- Assist with inventory of equipment, instruments and supplies.
- Performs other duties as assigned by senior staff.
Job Requirements:
- GCE ‘N’ Level or Secondary education and able to read and write in English
- WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare Support (Sterilization Services) or 1 - 2 years’ relevant experience is preferable
