As a Demand Planner at Decathlon, you will play a crucial role in aligning the supply strategy with market demand to optimize product availability and achieve business objectives. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, the ability to adapt forecasts based on market dynamics, and a proactive approach to managing inventory. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate forecasting of sales quantities, overseeing stock levels, and implementing strategies to maintain healthy inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Strategy Integration:
- Understand and align with the supply strategy of the zone to effectively apply it to your specific product category.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate market insights and business objectives into the demand planning process.
Sales Forecasting:
- Estimate and adapt forecasted sales quantities for products throughout the season, considering factors such as historical sales data, market trends, and promotions.
- Publish selection based on accurate forecasting to facilitate effective production and procurement planning.
Accuracy Assurance:
- Conduct weekly reviews of forecast accuracy, making adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal product availability.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the precision of forecasting models.
Inventory Management:
- Pilot and actively manage the demand planning process, ensuring adherence to stock norms and maintaining inventory levels that support business goals.
- Implement strategies to mitigate stockouts and excess inventory, optimizing the balance between demand and supply.
Top/Flop Scheduling:
- Plan and execute Top/Flop evaluations three times a year, focusing on key periods such as product implantation, peak seasons, and end-of-year cycles.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to optimize product assortment and inventory levels during these critical phases.
Stock Health Management:
- Implement and maintain practices that promote the health of stock, minimizing obsolescence and ensuring the efficient turnover of goods.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to manage and resolve stock-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
What you will need to be successful in the role :
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
