Junior IT Project Manager (End User Support)

The role of Junior IT Project Manager will involve supporting the planning, execution, and successful delivery of IT projects (End User Support Scope) within an organization. You will work closely with senior project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed within scope, budget, and timeline. Here are some key roles and responsibilities associated with the position:


Project Planning:

  • Assist in defining project objectives, scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather project requirements and create project plans.
  • Support the development of project schedules, resource allocation, and risk management plans.

Project Execution:

  • Coordinate project activities and ensure tasks are completed as per the defined project plan.
  • Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.
  • Facilitate effective communication between team members, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Document and maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, status reports, and project artifacts.

Team Coordination:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT specialists, developers, testers, and business stakeholders.
  • Assign tasks, track progress, and ensure team members have the necessary resources to complete their work.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.

Risk Management:

  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Regularly assess and monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement contingency plans to minimize the impact of potential risks on project deliverables.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Engage with project stakeholders, including business users, executives, and vendors.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Address stakeholder concerns and ensure their expectations are managed appropriately.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that project deliverables meet the required quality standards.
  • Conduct regular quality reviews and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on project metrics, such as project schedule adherence and customer satisfaction.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Contribute to the enhancement of project management processes and methodologies.
  • Seek opportunities to improve project efficiency, effectiveness, and overall project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in IT project management, preferably in a junior or assistant role or End User Support Lead who aspire to take on the role of a Junior IT Project Manager.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Understanding of project management principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with project planning, scheduling, and tracking.
  • Ability to manage project risks, issues, and changes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic understanding of IT End User Support Environment.
  • Familiarity with IT project management tools and software.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Active listening and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to identify project risks and propose effective mitigation strategies.
  • Aptitude for gathering and analyzing project requirements.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to issue resolution.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, even in a junior capacity.
