Role Responsibilities:
1. Identify and capitalize on profitable opportunities in the Dry Bulk Shipping Industry. Analyze the future market, freight rates trends, and make suitable business strategies. Perform detailed shipping market analysis to determine expected profit of shipping agreements.
2. Utilize market info, shipping intelligence and relevant industries forecast to make informed decisions. Make well negotiate and finalize advantageous shipping agreements with Owners or Charterers.
3. Develop, cultivate and maintain good relationships with the key industry stakeholders. To drive repeat business and increased spend and partnerships
4. Optimize schedule and performance through timely assessments. Manage shipping contracts effectively, adhering to all legal and operational guidelines. Stay updated on market trends, regulations, and best practices in the chartering domain.
5. Partner extensively with internal Voyage Operations and Trading Teams. Keep oversight over Shipping Contract throughout the whole voyage journey, providing support and assistance to Operations and to ensure P&L targets are consistently met or exceeded. Collaborate closely with the colleague to ensure seamless charter and operations execution.
Requirements:
1. Demonstrated ability to negotiate and secure profitable contracts in a competitive market. Exceptional analytical skills to interpret market data and make data-driven decisions. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. Commercial acumen and a results-oriented approach to drive revenue and profitability. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
2. Comprehensive knowledge of worldwide shipping requirements, especially the indian ocean, middle east and pacific regions, industry trends, and best practices.
3. Master’s or MBA in maritime studies/shipping and logistics/port and shipping management or similar.
4. Responsible for managing all aspects of chartering and operations of dry bulk vessels.
5. Anticipate possible problems in advance and adjust plans as needed to achieve the most cost-effective solutions.
6. Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in shipping. Management with a focus on dry bulk vessels.
7. In-depth knowledge of panamax, supramax/ultramax, handymax and other similar vessels.
8. Background coming from shipowner/trading companies.
9. Strong negotiation skills and a successful track record of securing favorable charter agreements.
10. Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards.
