Job Description:
Reporting to the Country Manager, the Associate Principal will manage ESC's Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Planning & Assessment (EPA) business area and support the enterprise’s regional business line.
This role will involve mentoring the existing team of diversified consultants and recruiting/employing others to fulfil your vision for the business. You will play a key role in managing our existing client base, as well as securing new business, building on client opportunities, and growing the EIA & EPA team to deliver high-quality projects across the whole enterprise. You will also be involved in the manpower development of the team and the office.
The role will require you to combine strategic direction with a hands-on approach to project delivery, with the primary goal to deliver a profitable and growing EIA & EPA business.
Job Responsibilities
• Day-to-day direction of ESC's EIA & EPA business, growth, and profitability.
• Undertake marketing and business development to win new EIA & EPA projects for ESC
• Business development and marketing, being instrumental in attracting and obtaining major new company business contracts.
• Representing ESC in EIA & EPA contracts.
• Initiating, designing, developing, executing, and implementing projects in collaboration with other ESC offices across Southeast Asia and beyond. • Leading project teams to provide services/solutions to complex technical problems and overseeing client management.
• Developing annual budgets for your business line according to ESC Group budget guidelines, together with forecasts, analysis, monthly financial reports, and reviews etc.
• Manage and mentoring the professional development of ESC's ESG Team, implementing formal quality assurance processes and assist staff appraisals.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate should have at least 15 years’ experience, with at least an MSc qualification in a related environmental field, PhD qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. This role will require you undertaking EIA and ESIA projects across the ASEAN region. Singapore / Hong Kong / Indonesia / Malaysia
Ideally, you will have significant relevant experience in ESIA to IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principals, environmental baseline studies, pollution control, numerical modelling, and other related technical disciplines. International experience is an advantage.
The role can be based in any of ESC's regional offices in Singapore, Malaysia, or Indonesia. Remote work from other regional countries may be considered on a case-by-case basis for the right applicant.
