Job Description
The mission of the Office of Alumni Relation (OAR) is to nurture mutually beneficial and lifelong relationships with alumni and engage them along NUS’ aspirations. The Alumni Communications team supports this mission by reaching out to and strengthening bonds with the University’s alumni in the following ways:
- Implement effective communication initiatives to increase awareness of the University's latest news and initiatives, nurture a sense of belonging and build pride among alumni.
- Strengthen alumni engagement through digital plaforms.
Duties & Responsibilities
As the Head, Alumni Communications, you will be responsible for leading the alumni communications team in implementing communication strategies to promote the NUS alumni network and drive engagement with alumni.
Branding & Marketing
- Develop and implement branding strategies that enhances the University's image and reputation among alumni.
- Manage and upkeep all brand elements including logos, icons and taglines.
- Maintain a consistent and compelling brand message across all communication channels and branded gifts.
Publications
- Oversee the planning, production and distribution of alumni publications including the half-yearly print version of The AlumNUS as well as the biennial NUS Alumni Awards and OAR booklet.
- Identify, appoint and manage vendors for the design and printing of publications, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality publications.
Event Marketing
- Provide guidance to colleagues from alumni engagement for event marketing initiatives, including email campaigns, web banner displays, organic and paid social, and instant messaging platforms.
- Oversee and optimise the email marketing schedule for alumni; maintain a consistently high standard of engaging email content to minimise unsubscribe rates.
- Utilise data analytics to measure the success of digital campaigns and optimise strategies for improved outcomes.
Digital & Social Media
- Develop and coordinate social media strategies to engage alumni across various platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and WeChat.
- Monitor social media trends and analytics to assess the effectiveness of communication efforts and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Amplify and celebrate achievements by alumni on social media.
- Oversee revamp of department website
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field.
- 8 to 10 years of proven track record in a marketing or communications function with at least three years in a leadership position.
- Strong leadership skills and excellent stakeholder management abilities.
- Organised, meticulous and able to manage concurrent projects.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
