Responsibilities:
- Oversee the smooth running of day-to-day lab operations
- Cost management: budgetary/capacity planning
- Prepare and lead Laboratory team for all quality and regulatory audits
- Work closely with Medical Director, Lab Director, Country Director and Quality Manager for any laboratory-related issues that require medical/operational oversight
- Ensure timely completion of all laboratory related work scope
- Responsible for the timely completion of training, competency testing and ensure adherence to documented procedures and protocols of all Laboratory staff
- Ensure laboratory equipment proficiency testing, maintenance and controls are timely performed as scheduled
- Development of operational efficiencies and improvements in processes
- Vendor/ supplier qualification and procurement of critical material and services
- Laboratory inventory control and monitoring
- Perform design control and validation studies in process change developments
- Monitor process deviations and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Set and monitor departmental quality and customer centric objectives
- To perform processing of cord blood units/ tissue from time to time, whenever necessary
- Client interfacing for special cases, from time to time
Requirements:
- Bachelor in Science with at least 3 years in Laboratory management/ supervisory experience
- Relevant quality assurance (AABB/FACT Netcord) and regulatory compliance (FDA, MOH, GDPMDS) experience preferred
- Experience in regulatory and accreditation audits will be a strong advantage
- Experience in processing umbilical cord blood/ biological banking experience preferred
- Must be able to work cohesively with fellow departments to attain common goals
- Has the ability to lead, align and motivate staff
- Effective in people and team management
- Must be resilient and able to handle tight timelines
