Restaurant Manager Job Description

Position: Restaurant Manager


Reports to: [General Manager or Owner]

Job Type: Full-time


Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service. The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring high-quality food and service, and maximizing profitability.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operations Management:Oversee day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
    Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
    Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control costs.
    Monitor and maintain high levels of food quality and presentation.
  2. Staff Management:Recruit, train, and supervise restaurant staff.
    Set performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews.
    Create and maintain a positive and efficient work environment.
    Schedule staff shifts to meet operational needs.
  3. Customer Service:Ensure excellent customer service and resolve customer complaints.
    Interact with customers to gather feedback and improve service.
    Implement strategies to enhance the overall customer experience.
  4. Financial Management:Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to achieve revenue goals.
    Analyze financial reports and implement cost-control measures.
    Prepare and manage budgets.
  5. Marketing and Promotion:Work with marketing teams to develop and implement promotional strategies.
    Participate in community events to promote the restaurant.
    Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  6. Training and Development:Conduct ongoing training programs for staff to enhance skills and performance.
    Stay informed about industry trends and implement best practices.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a similar role.
  2. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  3. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  4. Knowledge of restaurant operations, including kitchen and front-of-house procedures.
  5. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  6. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and restaurant management software.
  7. Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  8. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field (preferred).
