NTU’s Student Affairs Office seeks to achieve its mission of collaborating and co-creating a meaningful and enriching student life experience with its partners by:
promoting students’ personal growth through co-curricular learning arising from student-led activities, leadership development initiatives, residential hall programmes, inclusion and integration efforts, community engagement initiatives and sports.
facilitating meaningful engagement among key stakeholders within and outside of the NTU community.
Responsibilities
Engagement and professional development of SM2 bridging students, ASEAN and Science & Engineering scholars to empower their successful transition and integration into NTU and Singapore.
Student support and case management
i. Work with School Care Managers and other NTU administrative departments, to identify and provide relevant support services to international students, both academic and non-academic.
ii. Plan and organise training and activities for students, to help them better integrate academically and socially.
University-wide integration efforts
i. Lead the strategic planning and implementation of programmes and initiatives that inculcate the importance of diversity and integration.
ii. Support the development and implementation of policies and practices which enhance integration within NTU.
iii. Promotion and adoption of integrative practices within the NTU community.
iv. Collaborate with and provide advice to student leaders/advocates, as well as faculty and staff, to educate and raise awareness on integrative practices.Support the oversight of data collection and analysis, necessary for reports to regulators and NTU senior management.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in any related field from a recognised University.
At least 6 years of relevant experience which involves considerable interaction with students or youth.
Experience in the tertiary education sector will be advantageous.
Good working knowledge on the transition and integration of international students in higher education.
Sensitive to and empathetic towards the transition and integration challenges faced by international students.
Strategic, critical, and lateral thinking skills.
Ability to adapt effectively in a complex and constantly changing environment.
Communication, negotiation and influencing skills (written and verbal).
Ability to work collaboratively with university students and colleagues from different cultural and disciplinary backgrounds.
Strong drive to initiate, plan, implement and deliver integration initiatives on time and on target.
Proficient in all Microsoft Office application software.
