This role will assist in providing operational support to the NTU Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (NTU-IACUC) namely through the review of protocol amendments, annual reviews, study completion forms, and logistical support for meetings. The role will also assist in the execution of other requirements outlined for institutions under the NACLAR Guidelines to ensure a robust animal care and use programme in NTU.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in supporting the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).
- Collate and compile information from the Ethics Review Management Portal (ERMP) for annual reporting on NTU’s animal care and use programme
- Perform preliminary reviews of protocol amendments and post-approval follow up (annual reviews, study completion forms), in consultation with Managers
- Assist in dissemination of information to principal investigators and animal researchers
- To be familiar with regulations, guidelines and NTU’s policies on animal care and use so as to serve as a resource for researchers involved in animal work
- Provide secretariat and logistical support for IACUC meetings and facility inspections
- Prepare and maintain IACUC-related documentation
- Provide support for educational and training programmes/events (both online and face to face) through roadshows and research ethics seminars.
- Provide assistance for general office admin, including maintaining office supplies.
- Perform any other ad-hoc job-related duties when assigned
Requirements:
Diploma or Degree holder preferably with 3 to 5 years of experience in Administrative support
Experience in research conduct and administration / research ethics, would be an added advantage
Possess good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills in order to manage cross-functional and institutional relationships
Able to work with a high degree of accuracy and possess the ability to multitask
Proficient in MS office applications
