A Project Officer position is currently available in the School of Humanities.
NTU Hearing Brain Lab will be conducting a research project on language, speech and reading development in English and Chinese. Our lab is hiring a Project Officer to assist the PI in data collection, data analysis, preparation of manuscript and daily lab administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect, analyse, organise and maintain data
Handle subject database
Coordinate with children participants and centers for subject testing
Manage publicity and networking issues to promote the project for participant recruitment
Run logistics of experiments
Organise conferences and meetings with collaborators
Manage the grant
Complete administrative tasks
Assist in any other relevant research activities
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Linguistics, Cognitive Science or related field from a reputable university
Preferably with experience working in a research lab or in a clinical setting
Comfortable with computers and new software
Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese for facilitating data analysis and communication with participants
Good project management skills
Good problem-solving and multitasking abilities
Good analytical skills
Proactive and independent work abilities
Knowledge of quantitative research software e.g. SPSS
Knowledge in PsyToolkit, e-prime, word processing software, any programming language, operating an EEG/ERP machine is preferred
Experience running language learning experiments in a lab setting
There will be opportunity for the candidate to learn and carry out independent research relevant to our funded research projects on speech and language development across lifespan. The position is for one year, and is renewable subject to mutual interest and funding availability. The successful applicant will be working closely with the PI and other members of the lab.
