To assist in managing the manufacturing operations of the whole production department and be directly in charge of production purchasing and admin function
- To liaise with regulatory body regarding pharmaceutical compliance affair;
- To perform other activities required for the smooth operations, productivity and improvement of the department
- To be involved with projects, meetings required to fulfill the Company’s business objectives
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
This section provides the primary functions of the job.
Purchasing
- Supervising the purchasing activities in the timely sourcing/buying and confirmation of materials at competitive prices and periodic evaluation of vendors that meet the Company’s objectives, including negotiations with vendors on prices, terms and conditions
Manufacturing Operation and Production
- Responsible for managing the manufacturing operations of the whole production department
- Raise production ticket and ensure that the right quality of raw materials are released for production
- Responsible for production planning to meet demand forecast, customers’ orders and stocking policies; oversees and involved in the planning tasks, purchasing, dispensing, labels wording checks, entries into Navision system, etc
- Dispense raw materials before production according to required product specification
- Set up, develop, approve and implement for Production department standard operating procedures (SOP) and policies and system in line with PICs, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices); monitor the compliance with the requirements.
- Review of production batch documents and other documents
- Involved with the investigation of production deviations during the manufacturing of the products
- Responsible for the monitoring and control of the manufacturing environment and plant hygiene.
- Involved in the designation and monitoring of storage conditions for materials and products
- To ensure that products are produced and stored according to the appropriate documentation in order to obtain the required quality
- Coordinate with the QA/QC department on the inspection, investigation, and taking of samples in order to monitor factors which may affect product quality.
- To ensure that production records are evaluated and signed by an authorized person before they are sent to the QC dept
- To check the maintenance of the production dept, premises and equipment
- To ensure that the appropriate validations are done
People Management
- Oversees and manage the performance of all production staff, purchasing, admin function and regulatory function in their daily performance of routine duties;
- To ensure the right skilled work force are deployed for the right type of jobs in the production area
- Ensure that all production and operational staff have the appropriate initial and routine training
- Look into ways to improve employees’ productivity
Inter-department coordination
- Work with the product development department to improve on products’ problems
- Work with engineering and maintenance department to solve issues pertaining to production’s equipment
- Work with QA/QC department on handling GMP compliances issues at the production areas as well as in answering to H S A
Others
- Other ad hoc projects and related activities delegated by superior
Secondary responsibilities
- Operate the Navision system in the required areas of responsibility
- Compute the direct cost for tender costs
- Meet up with suppliers with respect to the sourcing of new materials
- Other related activities required to support the department
