As part of NOV’s Corporate Regional Payroll Team based in Singapore, the role of Payroll Specialist will work alongside the rest of the Regional Payroll Team which provides multi country payroll processing and support. This role will be directly responsible for supporting the business units in Australia and New Zealand.
The Payroll Specialist’s responsibility is to ensure the timely processing of the monthly and semi-monthly payroll calendar, with an ability to work to stringent deadlines, ensuring a high level of accuracy at all times.
Working closely with our Corporate HR/Payroll team, Managers and Employees directly, to offer and maintain a high level of customer service throughout each aspect of your role in support of the business and their needs. As Payroll Specialist you will be able to adapt to changing priorities and requirements whilst exercising good judgement based on business need as well as be quick to identify critical information and respond appropriately. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the full spectrum of tasks regarding the monthly and semi-monthly payroll for Australia and New Zealand.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll in accordance with local statutory requirements and regulations
- Provide day to day operational payroll support and work closely with NOV’s outsourced vendors to increase effectiveness and efficiency of payroll processing.
- Be the first point of contact for your supporting business units in handling payroll queries and updates.
- Prepare Payroll master data inputs to the payroll system, ensuring accurate handling of data.
- Provide necessary support and cross coverage to the other Payroll Specialists in the Regional Payroll Team, on overall team responsibilities.
- Perform time file reconciliation and assist timekeeper to resolve issue promptly.
- Prepare and submit accurate bank files for each payroll timely, monthly statutory files, monthly deductions payments to various external agencies.
- Submit Tax clearance for resigned, Expat and transferred employee.
- Process annual income tax submission.
- Distribution of payroll for inter-company billing and Payroll Costing report to respective ledger controller.
- Assist with balance sheet reconciliation queries.
- Preparing payroll data for SOX testing and audit purposes.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll, with appropriate quality checks and auditing.
- Consolidation of different payrolls in different countries
- Participate as a Regional Payroll Team member in the support of key projects & initiatives undertaken by the Regional Payroll Team overall.
- Liaise with Corporate HR & Finance as applicable with associated payroll requests and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Diploma in Human Resources / Payroll or related field (essential)
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 4 years’ experience of working with computerised payroll systems (essential)
- Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook) (essential)
- Payroll experience essential
- International payroll (desirable)
- Experience with Australia and New Zealand payroll rules (desirable)
SKILLS, TRAINING OR SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE
- Systems including ADP Payroll, Kronos T&A (desirable)
- Able to understand, evaluate and payroll data.
- Proficient in English both written and verbal.
- Be willing to provide colleagues with the information they need to complete their tasks and eliminate roadblocks.
- Able to apportion time effectively to complete tasks.
