THE ROLE
Report to: General Manager of Fabricated Products Division
General management of the company’s copper fabrication (rods) business within Southeast Asia, responsible for business development, customer acquisition and management, as well as accounts receivable management.
Set up, develop and manage the Copper Fabricated Products Division
Establish acceptable business practices and processes within the Division
Develop annual business plans, establish team targets in alignment with company’s business objectives
Acquire new and develop existing customers to broaden trading of fabricated copper rods internationally; management of spot and futures positions, as well as market research
Handle business disputes, including quality related issues
Management updates on business climate and operating conditions; align with company’s guidelines with regards to internal audits, business review and staff training requirements
Close cooperation across Divisions and Departments within the Group
Responsible for implementation of business risk management, including the management and recovery (where required) of accounts receivables
Other adhoc duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree preferably with a major/specialisation in Finance and/or International Trade
5 years of spot and futures trading experience in copper or other non-ferrous metals
Familiar with the up and downstream activities within the copper industry, with a good network of contacts with copper smelters, traders and end customers
Possess a broad picture of the copper market, diligent and responsible, with strengths in business development, able to deal with business travel requirements, as well as handle the pressures arising in the course of work
Excellent business and people management skills in driving efficient business operations and team management.
Fluent in Chinese to effectively communicate with Chinese speaking colleagues and counterparts
