The Events Lead of DealStreetAsia will join an entrepreneurial team that is expanding the portfolio of world-class conferences for audiences in the Private Equity and Venture Capital industry.

The Events Lead will be primarily responsible for all revenue streams linked to our flagship Asia PE-VC Summit and ancillary events. They will also own the event budget. The role requires a creative and strategic thinker, with a strong affinity for sales, and an understanding of the live event space, esp the key financial drivers. It requires knowledge of and passion for the business and finance industry, as well as the technology and marketing tools that serve to attract audiences. You will need a strong network of contacts in the startup, PE/VC and finance industries.

You will identify, prospect and source sponsorship and partnership opportunities as well as maximize (corporate) ticket sales for the event.


Responsibilities:

  • Build the DealStreetAsia Events model, leading the largest Asia PE-VC Summit as the key event of the year and building more ancillary events
  • Lead event sponsorship proposals / advertising sales & coordinate sponsorship activation with the sponsorship coordinator
  • Oversee (non-content) production for Asia PE VC Summit, including managing logistics, contracts, vendors, promotion, marketing, website, ticketing, payment gateways, printed materials and technical aspects
  • Create customised sponsorship/partnership proposals for potential clients. Working with the commissioned research and partner content team for customised reports, bespoke events within the flagship summit
  • Work closely with the Editor in chief to plan and manage DSA event calendar
  • Oversee event marketing and communication.
  • Manage events budget, including accounts receivable and invoice submission
  • Work with the marketing manager to develop DSA video library and online content
  • Support and lead on the improvement of all event processes.
  • Demonstrate expertise in event production, vendor negotiation, event contract procedures, logistics, and audience management

Required Skills / Background:

  • Strong sales and partnerships background to drive events revenue
  • Outgoing, high-energy people person; Poised, proactive, extremely detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to influence attract and maximize audience participation
  • Prior experience liaising with c-level decision makers
  • Proven event production expertise and trade / event marketing expertise
  • Self starter with ability to work in a fast paced startup environment
  • Rapid learner who can engage with journalists, editors, speakers, sponsors etc.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and events simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving skills – approaches problems logically with a solution oriented mindset and with good judgment to provide the appropriate outcome
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • Experience with social media platforms a plus
  • Ability to give clear, concise direction
  • Solid command of Excel, PowerPoint/Keynote
  • Ability to travel, work nights and weekends if needed
  • 5-10 years of experience preferred
  • Salary will be based on experience, seniority, plus commissions
  • Immediate
