The Distribution Specialist controls and ensures correct and compliant daily operation of the Singapore GDC Global Distribution Center to ensure correct on time delivery of replenishment orders to the countries it serves. To support correct functioning of the GDC, job holder also holds the responsibility for GDC Master Data quality, stock accuracy and availability. Through application of operational excellence and process development job holder guides the GDC through maturity stages from initially a simple cross docking operation to a fully functional pick pack ship operation with value-add services. The Singapore GDC Distribution Specialist is the key person for Supply Chain related Quality & Regulatory topics in Singapore.

Responsibilities:

Control the GDC Operation

  • Key task of the Distribution Specialist is to ensure efficient and effective operation of the Singapore GDC. This includes control and guidance of the 3PL solution according to agreed service levels and standards. Over time the GDC will develop from a simple cross-docking operation to a fully operational pick, pack ship operation. Job holder will be required to guide this evolution process for the GDC.

Stock Accuracy and Control

  • As the process owner in the APAC GDC the he/she is responsible for stock control and accuracy in all processes, ensure compliance with the requirement of SOX and regularly monitor 3PL performance in this area.

Overall Master Data Control for the Singapore GDC

  • Master Data plays a key role in the overall operation and functionality of the Singapore GDC. As data exists in multiple systems and need to be transacted through various ERP solutions strict control is essential to the operation. Work closely with the Global Master Data team on the data governance, with the countries served by the GDC and with the GDC suppliers on the content of the data. Product master data in AX is required to be set up in synchronisation with the market processes.

GDC Service Level Performance

  • This role monitors and reports the GDC service performance. Where needed corrective actions will be initiated and followed up.\

Operational Excellence and Process Development for the Singapore Supply Chain

  • This role will drive the operational excellence and process development for the overall GDC. Lean methodologies, GMP and GDP principles will apply to deliver to the improvement goals. The job holder makes sure the GDC operates in full compliance with local regulation, global regulations and Smith & Nephew policies and practices.

Value-add services (e.g. Labelling, Inserts)

  • Post go-live several value-add services can be run from the Singapore GDC. This function will evaluate, recommend, and initiate via appropriate business cases the use of these services.

Occupational Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) / Quality responsibility

  • Complies with all HSE and quality policies and procedures as required by job function and completes all required HSE and quality training.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in operational roles.
  • Organizational skills and methodical approach
