Job Scope:
The Purchaser will be in charge of procurement of materials, equipment, machinery, services and rental to maintain inventory levels and fulfil project site requests.
Purchasing Scope:
- Full spectrum of purchasing process; receiving requistion forms, sourcing quotations, issuing PO, co-ordinating delivery, reconciliation of DO and POs and liaising with accounts for payment.
- Follow SOP in sourcing of new vendors.
- Adhere to ISO compliance in procurement process; documentation for ISO requirements include evaluation of vendor. Document user's feedback with regards to quality and service of goods and services.
- Review of quotations; sensitivity to clauses in terms & conditions that have a material impact on the cost of the goods/service.
- Follow up on open/ outstanding POs; be aware of delivery dates and communicate with relevant staff.
- Negotiate terms & conditions favourable to the company.
- Ensure documentation for procurement process is complete from Requistion Form to Purchase Order to Delivery Order to invoice.
- Keep track on rental equipment/ items to ensure no idle time and prompt return to vendor.
- Project costing
- Analysis and forecast of material usage by project sites.
- Work closely with the store to ensure inventory levels are accurately reflected in database.
- Assist with stocktake and audit.
- Liaise with IT vendor on maintenance of software and development of new Apps.
- Updating the product and vendor database.
- Various usage reports
- Other ad hoc duties assigned by management.
Job Requirements:
- 2-4 years of experience in purchasing in the construction/ marine sector.
- Diploma in Procurement/logistics or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. High level of competence in Excel will be favoured.
- Pay attention to details.
- Keen and critical eye in reviewing quotations, able to apply terms & conditions of quotations to specific contexts and analyse accordingly.
- Strong analytical skills and able to organise data to convey information clearly.
- Highly organised; uses calendar or sticky notes to set alert for tasks
- Ability to follow SOP strictly.
- Strong communication skills; able to present ideas and information clearly and effectively to management. At the same time able to simplify communication so that foreign workers can understand.
- Takes the initiative and self-driven.

Working hours:
Mon - Fri 8:30am - 5:30pm
Sat 8:30am - 12:30pm (remote work is permitted)
