Job Purpose
The National Development Coach (Canoe Polo) will work under the direction of the National Head Coach (Canoe Polo) to assist in the planning, coaching and monitoring of the National Senior Squad (Canoe Polo).
Key Duties/ Responsibilities
1. Coaching and Development
a) Assist the National Head Coach (Canoe Polo) in planning, supervising, and organising training programmes for athletes in the National Senior Squad (Canoe Polo).
b) Assist the National Head Coach (Canoe Polo) in planning programmes and competitions leading to major international competitions, in particular, 2024 World Championships and 2025 Asian Championships.
c) Assist the National Head Coach (Canoe Polo) in identifying potential athletes to join the National Senior Squad (Canoe Polo).
d) Assist the National Head Coach (Canoe Polo) in creating a development pathway for Singapore Canoe Polo.
2. Reporting
a) Assist the National Head Coach (Canoe Polo) in providing a report on all overseas trips to the General Manager and Board.
Job Requirements
- Relevant international or national coaching certifications or experience
- Previous experience competing and/or coaching at World Championships and Asian Championships.
- Availability to invest the required time into the coordination of squad coaching activities.
- Availability to attend all selection events, all training camps, and the competitions, in particular, 2024 World Championships and 2025 Asian Championships.
- Commitment to the fulfilment of the Federation’s HP objectives.
- Shows a high degree of understanding of personal, tactical and strategic skills of canoe polo.
- Posseses a coaching style that is suitable to the squad’s level and federation’s High Performance objectives.

- Good oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrate personal integrity, honesty, respect, and show an ability to handle pressure and stress in an appropriate manner
- Highly motivated and passionate about the sport
- Willingness to assist the team and the Federation as needed and when required
- Must be able to form effective working relationships with SCF, athletes, fellow Canoe Polo coaches, and other stakeholders e.g. SportSG and parents
