YOUR ROLE:
We are offering an exciting opportunity for Principal Architect to join our innovative, fun and dynamic team. You’ll work alongside our Tech Hive to use your talents in software development, application architecture, design thinking and problem solving to help create rapid prototypes and enable the rapid acceleration of ideas. We are looking for someone who is a creative individual with deep technological expertise, business acumen and software development background. Ideally an individual who is resourceful, detail oriented, looking for the excitement that comes from working hard - and wants to work with a team who feels the same way. Your work will make a direct impact with our project teams and business stakeholders and provide technical expertise that enables innovation.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide strategic guidance: Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and develop architectural strategies to align technology solutions with their goals.
- Lead architectural projects: Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex and large-scale architectural projects, ensuring they meet client requirements, budget constraints, and industry best practices.
- Conduct assessments and audits: Evaluate existing technology systems, applications, and infrastructure to identify areas for improvement, recommend solutions, and provide guidance on architectural enhancements.
- Provide technical expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in specific architectural domains, such as cloud computing, data analytics, cybersecurity, or enterprise architecture.
- Oversee architectural standards: Develop and maintain architectural standards, frameworks, and methodologies, ensuring consistency, scalability, and reusability across projects and clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with project managers, developers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration, coordination, and delivery of architectural solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior architects: Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to junior architects and team members, fostering their professional growth and ensuring the quality of deliverables.
- Stay updated with industry trends: Continuously research and evaluate emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in the architectural field, incorporating innovative solutions into client engagements.
- Support business development: Collaborate with business development teams to identify new opportunities, contribute to proposals, and engage in client presentations or discussions.
WHO YOU ARE
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Additional certifications in relevant areas (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are advantageous.
- Professional experience: Several years (typically 10+ years) of experience in IT architecture, including experience in a consulting or advisory role.
- Architectural expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience in various architectural domains, such as application architecture, infrastructure architecture, data architecture, or security architecture.
- Project leadership: Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex architectural projects, demonstrating strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in relevant technologies, platforms, and tools, such as cloud computing (e.g., AWS, Azure), enterprise applications, databases, networking, and security.
- Strategic thinking: Ability to understand business needs, translate them into architectural strategies, and provide recommendations that align with organizational goals.
- Communication and collaboration: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to effectively communicate complex architectural concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Leadership and mentorship: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and guide junior architects and team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
