Context:
One of the world’s largest utilities in a large and highly diversified energy portfolio, including electricity, natural gas, and other fuels, CO2 and environmental products, and provide a range of trading risk management solutions to all types of market participants. Activities currently include trading of LNG, carbon emissions, biomass and freight, power and gas, and the provision of energy risk management services.
Client is looking for an IS HELPDESK & INFRA SUPPORT, to improve the reliability of the existing systems, and support the development of the new systems.
The role is based in Singapore and requires many interactions with the teams in Europe. Business trips to Europe may require from time to time. As a member of the IT team in Singapore, the IS HELPDESK INFRA SUPPORTis also expected to contribute to the cohesion of the IT team.
Role:
The main activities of the IS HELPDESK & INFRA SUPPORT are:
- Provide 1st & 2nd line support by telephone, mail or in person.
- Identify, track, and resolve hardware and software incidents that affect the end-users
- Active filtering, handling, coordination and follow-up of IT service requests
- Provide user assistance in a broad sense including tablets, Smartphone’s, ... via all our communication means like phone, mail, IT corner, Yammer, etc.
- Ensure Workstation Assets Management
- Be able to master, set up and configure workstations
- Coordinate technical assistance to resolve operational issues provided by internal and external service providers
- Liaise with external suppliers to ensure delivery to agreed standards and timescales
- Prepare accurate and timely support documentation where required
- Work with Infra Operations lead on modernization projects
- Work with European Helpdesk teams to collaborate on issues
- Ability to think on your feet and use initiative
- Weekend working being involved with desk moves and maintenance work
- Writing of scripts for creating automatic task schedulers and creating automation tools with Python or PowerShell
Hard skills:
- Must have: Troubleshooting Laptop, Desktop, etc.
- Good to have: experience in Servers and Network appliances
Education and professional background:
- Degree Level IT or Engineering certificate along with Microsoft certifications (or planned)
- Experience of working within financial services preferably trade floor experience (not essential)
- Technical/Business Skills
- Windows 10 & Windows 11 environment o Market Data Apps o ITIL environment
- Collaborative tools -Teams/office 365 / Active Directory / SCCM / ServiceNow
- Behavioural and social skills
- Interactive behaviour: Active Listening and communication skills, team player
- Problem solving: Issues perception, analysing, practical thinking, creativity, innovation
- Personal effectiveness: Facilitation skills, pragmatism and pro-activity, resilience to stress, taking initiative, learning ability
- Programming: Python (added advantage)
Language:
- Must have: English: fluent
- Good to have: Chinese, Japanese & French : Added advantage
Travels:
Able to travel from APAC Region if required
