Job Description
- Mechanical background with experience in installing marine equipment on newly built vessels.
- Desired background as a marine mechanic.
- Experience in equipment alignment, valve & pump, hydraulic systems, and main engines is a plus.
- Ability to plan work based on current and projected needs.
- Direct and organize staff and equipment to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Prioritize work and tasks as directed by the Project Manager.
- Work with minimum supervision.
- Assist the Project Manager in ensuring that assigned jobs are completed in accordance with job and safety requirements.
- Supervise equipment installation and machining requirements for projects.
- Responsible for assisting management in mentoring and regular performance reviews.
- Excellent interaction with clients as required.
- Meet deadlines and budget constraints.
- Develop work and production schedules.
- Perform any other duties assigned by a superior.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Marine Engineering.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of working experience in a related field, specifically with Marine Mechanical equipment such as main engines, generators, and pumps.
- Familiar with class requirements e.g. ABS, Lloyds, RINA, etc.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, planning, and decision-making abilities.
- Previous experience in a Shipyard environment is a plus
