Retail Manager

The Pan Pacific Hotel Singapore

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with key clients and grow the client database.
  • Propose new products and marketing initiatives.
  • Review product positioning, fulfill orders, and ensure quality and hygiene assurances.
  • Develop and implement the department’s annual business plan, strategies, and key performance objectives.
  • Manage and train a team, leading by example and maintaining a hands-on approach.
  • Foster strong working relationships with other departments and uphold a high level of communication.
  • Monitor monthly inventory records and ensure par-stock levels are accurately maintained.
  • Oversee displays and promotional setups.
  • Use monthly sales mix tracking to identify slow-moving products and introduce innovative items.
  • Promote effective communication with all departments to maximize revenue streams.
  • Analyze sales and revenue reports to make accurate forecasts.
  • Prepare monthly forecasts and sales action plans to meet and surpass financial targets.
  • Track and report monthly sales mix for discounts, new products, and promotions to optimize business profitability.
  • Actively seek new business opportunities.
  • Stay informed about competitors in the market and make recommendations for pricing and product strategies.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing team on advertising and promotional activities.
  • Implement training plans for team development and succession planning.
  • Lead by example through a passionate, hands-on approach.
  • Maintain a professional and pleasant image at all times.
  • Ensure privacy and confidentiality are maintained.
  • Demonstrate a positive working relationship with other departments, emphasizing communication and cooperation for service improvement and enhanced working conditions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Retail Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to make effective decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and financial analysis.
  • Proven track record in business development and client relationship management.
  • Familiarity with market trends and competitor activities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
