Based in CDPQ’s Singapore subsidiary and reporting to the Managing Director, Private Equity, the successful candidate will support the International Private Equity team, deployment and portfolio management objectives. He / she will contribute to optimizing returns, collaborating on transactions and closely monitoring portfolio companies to create value.
Main responsibilities
- Participate in the selection of deals and help prepare preliminary analysis and documents for investment recommendations within established timelines
- Support senior team members by conducting rigorous financial modelling
- Contribute to the creation of internal reports and keep them up to date
- Comprehensively review target companies’ financial reports, establish comparables that are representative of the competitive universe and conduct their detailed analysis
- Support senior team members in preparing and organizing meetings and discussions with existing and potential partners.
- Systematically conduct in-depth research on current trends in his/her sectors of activity, proactively monitor the news and collect information from relevant sources.
- Develop effective search and monitoring tools.
- Produce sector studies / market screenings to continue to team’s business development
- Participate in the development of work processes and updating required information
- Generate value-add in the portfolio management by supporting senior team members
Requirements
- At least two (2) years’ experience in finance/ investment
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics or accounting from a top-tier institution
- Master’s degree in finance and/or CFA designation would be an advantage
- Excellent financial modelling and analysis skills
- Comfortable with software used in finance (Excel, Capital IQ, ThomsonOne, Bloomberg, etc.)
- Understanding of the Japanese and/or Korean market dynamics is a strong advantage
- Fluent English is required, both written and spoken
- Fluency in Japanese and/or Korean is a strong advantage to facilitate interactions with existing and potential partners and target companies.
