Project Manager

The Project Manager plans, takes ownership of, and leads the successful implementation of projects to achieve project objectives. He/she assembles project resources, drives project progress, facilitates interaction and aligns tasks of various parties, and manages risks to achieve overall success. He develops and identifies advances/opportunities in project management to improve timely delivery of projects and efficient use of resources. He/she ensures the adoption of appropriate project metholodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid), frameworks, practices, and tools, adapting them as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.


The Project Manager is an effective team player who manages project timelines, stakeholders, deliverables and resources in a structured manner. He adopts an analytical and strategic approach in developing and communicating solutions that meet project objectives and stakeholder needs.


Responsibilities

  • Deliver multiple projects on time, within budget and at expected job margin/s, managing project resources and activities accordingly.
  • Detailed planning (initial and ongoing) for projects based on realistic effort estimates and considering all potential risks. Methodologies/ approaches may include Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid as necessary or appropriate.
  • Manage scope for projects tightly to avoid effort and time delays, including ensuring planning/scoping deliverables are sufficiently specific, and engaging client stakeholders to avoid scope creep. Establish basis and secure client approvals and POs for Change Requests where necessary to avoid revenue leakage.
  • Assemble project teams (with appropriate resource loading, levelling and baselining) and provide effective onboarding to ensure individual roles and responsibilities are clearly communicated. Ensure team members are adequately skilled and equipped (e.g. with training, information, or coaching/mentoring) to deliver to their work assignments.
  • Closely monitor and manage teams’ tasks and activities to ensure timely and quality delivery, establishing, recording, and reporting on performance metrics at teach stage of the projects.
  • Monitor team members’ personal performances, celebrating success and managing issues as necessary to ensure personal and team goals are met.
  • Secure timely sign-offs from clients and to ensure prompt billing.
  • Adhere to Project Management Office policies, procedures, and standards. Where necessary, adapt or institute standards to ensure good project management practices.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders (at all levels) on a regular and timely basis to inform and communicate as required, providing reporting and facilitating decision making at appropriate levels.
  • Ensure the creation and maintenance of project documentation (charters, schedules, statement of work, deliverables, requirements, approvals/sign off, etc.).
  • Proactive management and communication of issues and risks with appropriate and timely resolution and mitigation actions.
  • Ensure all project related Scope, Efforts and Resource are billable.
  • Creating and maintaining professional relationships with client personnel and Di team members.

Qualifications

The candidate for this role must:

  • This is not an entry level position; the candidate must have experience in directly managing multiple project teams and client relationships confidently
  • Demonstrate the ability to present information clearly, concisely, and accurately, communicating effectively with senior clients, DI stakeholders, and delivery team members.
  • Communicate directly, openly, honestly and respectfully.
  • Confront issues openly and quickly, and tactfully communicate sensitive information.
  • Work in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Flexibility, relationship building, communication skills and time management are essential to success in this position.
  • Be willing and able to travel (local and international) as required.
  • Ability to influence decision making.
  • Identity Governance & Access management knowledge would be an added advantage.

Minimum Required Experience:

  • Strong experience in project management, project planning & execution (at least 5 years).
  • Key contributor in projects composed of multi-discipline teams (Hardware, Software, Systems, etc.).
  • Key contributor in projects across multiple methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, etc.).
  • Proficient skill level with Microsoft Project or equivalent.
  • Expert skill level with Microsoft Office and Visio.

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science; Bsc Information Technology or Msc Information Technology, Graduate.
  • Project Management Professional Certified (PMP) or a subject matter expert in work management
  • Delivery methods (preferred).
  • Demonstrated track record of successful management on multiple projects.
  • Public speaking and reporting to C-Suite level audience.
