Youth Employment Support (YES) (青年就业辅助) was formed in 2007 to continue imparting to graduates of Metta School with life skills that promote integration, independence and employment.
Our maiden initiative, Arts@Metta (慈光展艺), has as its mission to provide equal access to enriching artistic endeavours for youths with special needs while creating related training cum employment opportunities under a sustainable framework.
As an YES Executive, the candidate is responsible in the following areas:
Alumnus Programmes & Well-Being
- Oversee YES Programme
- Oversee alumni outreach and engagement activities
- Oversee alumni personal hygiene and grooming
- Work with stakeholders such as caregivers and trainers from Arts@Metta, ECO@Metta and Metta Café to provide holistic support to Alumni
- Works with Industrial Trainers to schedule their coaching and assessment schedules and address other work related issues
- Oversee and work with volunteers to improve the quality of Alumni programme
- Conducts workshops on pre-work skills (work readiness) such as grooming, interview skills, administrative skills (application form)
- Plans and conducts career preparation activities such as site visits, field trips, school-based and community based work experience for alumni
- Provides general counselling to alumni if necessary
CSR Workshop
- Oversee all CSR workshop for Arts@Metta and ECO@Metta
- Liaise with stakeholders on all CSR workshops enquiry
- Planning and coordinating all CSR workshops with Arts@Metta and ECO@Metta trainers
- Handle all payments and admistration
Administration
- Submit Alumni monthly reports to Manager
- Manage Event/Activities/Short Courses Projects for Alumni
- Manage, track and ensure Alumni contact and employment data is up to date by providing continual outreach to build long term relationships
- Update of Alumni Database in Dove system
- Ensure administrative duties for Event/Activities/Short Courses are discharged
- Manage Financial Assistance /Funding Scheme for Alumni
- Assist in budget Planning and use of budget effectively
Job Instructor
- Oversee Alumni job training and placement
- Designs and conducts pre-placement training, assessment for individual student
- Discuss job duties, safety procedure and environment with alumni and caregivers
- Carries out job matching, supports, coaches, guides and enable Alumni to assimilate comfortably into the work environment and advises them on appropriate ways to deal with problems faced at work
- Monitors alumni on-the-job progress and performance
- Liaise with caregivers, employer and the workplace’s supervisor on work related issues prior to and during the job attachment
- Contacts and maintains relationship with industrial partners.
- Sources for suitable/new corporate partners based on needs analysis.
- Assist in YES events or roadshow
- May required to work on weekends when necessary
- Performs all other duties as assigned by management
Other Requirements
- Diploma from recognised educational institution or GCE “A” level with a pass in General Paper
- Trained with Diploma in Special Education (DISE) is an advantage
- Relevant industrial work experience and/or working with youths with intellectual disability and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder are advantage
