The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other researchers (including PhD students and research staff) to conduct research on the structure-property relationship of additive manufactured (AM) alloys under the supervision by Prof. Gao Huajian.
- Perform multiscale simulations (DFT, MD, FEM, Phase field model) to obtain fundamental understanding of the deformation mechanism of AM alloys and develop physics-based models for the verification and prediction of mechanical properties.
- Deliver project millstones timely and present the work on internal and external conferences.
Job Requirements:
- PhD degree in solid mechanics/computational mechanics/mechanics of materials
- Rich experience in theoretical and computational mechanics
- Good communication and writing in English
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Strong responsibility for research work.
- Publication track record is an advantage
