The eVTOL Research and Innovation Centre at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is looking for a Research Engineer II in the area of Stress Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural analysis and assess the strength and durability of aircraft components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods to model and simulate structural behaviour under various loading conditions.
- Collaborate with the aircraft design team to provide input on structural considerations during the design phase.
- Develop, validate, and execute FEM models to analyse stress, strain, and deformation of aircraft structures.
- Perform static and dynamic analysis using FEM tools and methodologies.
- Investigate and identify the root causes of structural failures or anomalies, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Plan and conduct critical stress testing including the material equivalency test, sub-component test and proof load test, etc.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement design improvements based on analysis findings.
- Ensure that all structural designs and analyses comply with relevant aviation regulations and industry standards.
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Stress Engineer in the aerospace industry or automobile industry.
- Strong proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and software.
- Experience in CAD Modelling.
- Familiarity with carbon fibre materials and relevant industry regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Fluent English skill is a must.
