The University Scholars Programme (NTU-USP) leads a University-wide commitment to provide an intellectually stimulating and enriching academic environment for the best students of NTU. The programme focuses nurturing creative and reflective global citizens devoted to understanding our ever-changing world.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of NTU-University Scholars Programme, the staff is responsible for assisting in the following areas:
Overseas Learning
Review and update standard operating procedure for overseas learning programme
Organise information sessions and advise students on programme opportunities and requirements
Advise students on personal and academic goals, partner university selection, health and safety concerns, intercultural competency, etc.
Assist students with the study abroad application process, including advising on financial aid and scholarships, courses equivalency process, registration, transcripts, credits and other administrative tasks
Process applications, and logistics and manage scholars’ placement in partner Universities
Facilitate course matching process between scholars, home programmes and partner Universities
Stay abreast of all travel alerts, travel warnings and events abroad that might affect students.
Manage study abroad funding
Assist with the preparation of statistical reports required by the programme.
Manage students’ placement to partner Universities
Handle communication between NTU departments, partner Universities and students
Outreach
Develop and implement communications strategies, campaigns and/ or initiatives to achieve the goals and objectives of the programme
Manage publicity and communication tools and platforms, including but not limited to the website, e-newsletters, social media (Facebook, Instagram, Blog, Tik Tok), printed collaterals etc
Produce collaterals such as videos, brochures, and posters etc
Liaise and organise community outreach events/ roadshows
External/Alumni Relations
Plan and organize visits from/to foreign universities, government ministries, schools (secondary and junior colleges) and corporations, etc.
Maintain partnerships with universities for study abroad programme and alumni
Student Club
Provide advice to Committee in activities proposal writing
Work closely with NTU-USP Club to organise activities
Track club budget
Alumni Relations
Support Alumni Association of NTU-USP
Manage the development of alumni relations
Keep records and directories of alumni members
Others
Manage NTU-USP website and intranet
Any other duties that may be assigned
Requirements:
A degree holder with a minimum of 2-3 years of working experience
Takes initiative and with good organisational skills
Proactive team player in reaching out to work and co-operate with peers and/or stakeholders in other departments to derive synergy in related work processes
Able to multitask and ensure that many different tasks are being carried out effectively and efficiently
Ability to effectively communicate changes and the impact of the changes to supervisors, peers and direct reports
Enjoy working with undergraduate students
Well-versed in Microsoft Office, presentation tools and social media platforms
