As a Platform Technical Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for offering technical assistance related to platform issues, ensuring the smooth operation of the Databricks unified analytics platform. Your primary focus will be supporting our esteemed customers in the Greater China Region, guiding them through their Databricks experience. Your expertise will empower them to derive maximum value from our products and align with their strategic objectives. Your scope of support will range from addressing fundamental technical inquiries to navigating intricate architectural challenges within the broader Big Data ecosystem. Your contributions will be under the guidance and leadership of the Senior Manager for Platform Support.
The impact you will have:
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues related to Databricks platform
- Provide best practices support for custom-built solutions developed by Databricks customers
- Deliver suggestions for improving performance in customer-specific environments
- Assist with issues around third-party integrations with Databricks environment
- Demonstrate true sense of ownership and coordinate with engineering and escalation teams to achieve resolution of customer issues and requests
- Participate in the creation and maintenance of company documentation and knowledge articles
- Be a true proponent of customer advocacy
- Strengthen your AWS/Azure and Databricks platform expertise through learning and internal training programs
- Be a team player and coach other team members
What we look for:
- Experience with Systems/Platform Engineering
- Hands-on experience with a cloud platform (AWS or Azure)
- Demonstrated experience in effectively managing Linux systems (CentOS/RHEL, Amazon Linux etc.)
- Understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, DHCP and DNS, NTP) and diagnostic tools (tcpdump/ethtool)
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills in Mandarin and English
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code solutions, e.g. Terraform, Cloudformation, Troposphere, AWS CDK, etc.
- One or more AWS/Azure Certifications preferred (not mandatory)
- Working knowledge of Python and Rest API's is strongly preferred.
- Solid experience with No-SQL/SQL-based database is preferred.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools preferred (Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity)
- Exposure to Infrastructure and Application monitoring tools (Zenoss, Elastic Search, New Relic, DataDog etc)
- Exposure to container and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos) is preferred
- Verbal and written fluency in Mandarin
