Responsibilities:
Warehouse Management
- Manage and review Distribution Centre operational policies, standards and procedures including the implementation of warehousing solutions, in accordance with warehousing business and operational needs. Responsible for managing warehousing inbound, outbound, inventory operations, including manpower and internal assets.
- Review warehouse planning methods, warehouse storage and layout plans
- Determine warehouse storage system strategy using knowledge of changes in conditions, operations and the environment and its impact to outcomes
- Efficiently plan for the most optimal warehouse storage location to maximize storage capacity, space availability and reduce travelling time during the pick and pack.
- Organize planning of resources within business activities
- Keep team members focused on service delivery, considering the cost, timeliness, impact and quality.
Warehouse Operations
- Planning of smooth end-to-end warehouse flow and processes from order initiation to receiving, handling, distribution and storage.
- Resolve warehousing issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure stacking, moving, and arranging items on pallets according to storage plans.
Inbound and Outbound Operations
- Oversee inbound and outbound operations.
- Ensure of the following :
- Goods received are in tact and check as per requirement
- Timely update of SAP / WMS.
- Proper handling, labeling for identification and storage of receiving goods.
- Warehouse Assistant (WA) performs sample pick for Quality incoming inspection.
- Timely issuance of raw materials to Factory warehouse.
- All Orders (Export, ECommerce, SG Cartel, Factory, Goods Request Forms) are processed timely.
- Cycle and Monthly stock count.
- FIFO (First In First Out)is carried out for normal delivery.
- FEFO (First Expire First Out) is carried out for export delivery or as per SCP instruction.
Drive Workplace Safety, Health (WSH)
- Ensure a safe workplace in the warehouse adhering to WSH standards.
- Ensure inventories are placed properly in the warehouse adhering to BRCGS standards.
- Ensure the team members are competent in using the equipment.
- Perform safety and health risk assessment.
- Maintain general housekeeping of the warehouse. Perform warehouse operations in accordance with 5S (sort, set, shine, standardise, sustain) techniques.
- Ensure corrective actions to address areas of non-conformance to WSH and BRCGS standards
- PCQI trained and member. To develop & monitor Food Safety Plan & to respond to any Food Safety issues for warehouse and DC
Transportation Management and Operations
- Manage and review transportation operational policies, standards and procedures in accordance to transportation business and customers’ needs, including the implementation of transportation solutions. Responsible for managing transport resources for local delivery, including manpower, internal assets and external vendors.
Drive Local Delivery Operations
- Review effectiveness of risk management plans and resources for transport execution.
- Communicate the importance of achieving transportation operation timeframe outcomes with efficient use of resources.
- Formulate vehicle fleet management strategies across different plans.
- Negotiate pricing if needed to use 3rd party for local delivery.
- Ensure daily transportation delivery schedules are developed properly with consideration of timelines and resource factors, minimize downtime.
Shipping and Operations
- Manage and review shipping operational policies, standards and procedures in accordance to freight operational and customers’ needs, including adopting the best and cost effective freight solutions.Responsible for managing freight operational resources, including manpower and external vendors.
Manage Export freight forwarding operations
- Develop freight shipment solutions for improvements and/or closing gaps.
- Maintain relationships with vendors, carriers, and logistics operators to provide competitive shipping solutions.
- Manage performance of logistics partners to ensure compliance and alignment with customer requirements and contractual obligations
- Keep team members focused on service delivery, taking into account cost, timeliness, impact and quality.
Efficiency
- Monitor effectiveness of warehouse operations strategies aimed to reduce operation costs.
- Liaise and work closely with relevant departments to solve outstanding problems and establish better coordination.
- Assist in forecasting and budgeting reports for DCs operations
- Manage the DC activities to ensure the resources are used effectively and the daily work schedules and targets are met.
- Prompt submission of OKR report and departmental performance reports for reviews.
- Escalate issues or difficult customers to Manager immediately.
- Submission of monthly KPI report and physical and system stocks reconciliation
- Maintain accurate written procedure for all DC, transportation & shipping operations
- 98% Inventory Accuracy
- 100% accuracy in daily transactions and alignment between SAP and WMS
- Adherence to timeline of month end closing
- Timely management of customer complaints due to delivery, order picking and stock management due to quality issues
Manage and Develop team members
- Coach team members and provide on-going feedback and support to improve performance.
- Identify individual and team skills gaps and development opportunities (i.e. training, projects, etc.) to facilitate individual and team development.
- Manage resources and people processes (e.g. performance management, career development, staffing, cross-training, etc.) to ensure effective daily operations.
- Identify opportunities to involve team members in new and challenging work assignments and/or job rotation that advance skills and capabilities of the individual and team.
- Resolve individual and group performance issues in accordance with policies and procedures.
Any other responsibilities deem necessary to complete the role
Our dream candidates
- Degree in warehousing, logistics, supply chain
- Solid understanding of logistics and inventory management software.
- Many years of professional experience in logistics, warehousing including process know-how (from goods receipt to shipping)
- Preferably to have knowledge in SAP SD/MM/WM
- Excellent analytical skills and work in a result oriented manner
- Methodological competence in process analysis
- An ambitious individual with flexibility and drive who can maintain attention to details and quality whilst remaining focused on task
- Must be comfortable delivering tight deadlines and operating within pressurized environments
- Must be willing to improve and adapt
- Ability to work independently, reliable and a strong team player
