Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and educate employees on important data compliance requirements
- Draft new and amend existing internal data protection policies, guidelines, and procedures, in consultation with key stakeholders
- Deliver training across all business units to staff members who are involved in data handling or processing
- Conduct data protection impact assessment to ensure compliance and to address potential issues
- Ensure that company policies are in compliance with laws and regulations such as Personal Data Protection Act 2012 of Singapore (PDPA), Privacy Act 1988 of Australia or GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
- Evaluate the existing data protection framework to identify areas of no or partial compliance, and rectify any issues
- Stay up to date with data protection laws and regulations and design and conduct training
- Provide data protection advice to staff members
- Inform and advise the data controller or data processor on all matters related to data protection
- Promote a culture of data protection and compliance across all units of the Certis Group
Requirements
- Understanding of data protection laws and related experience of Singapore or Australia. Good to have General Data Protection Regulation and IT knowledge.
- Has relevant degree in law with background in data protection/privacy and called to the Singapore bar or an Australian state bar.
- Has at least 3 years of relevant experience in data protection/privacy, well versed in IT security, terms and infrastructure.
- Ability to audit, manage and collaborate with people from multiple disciplines and cultures.
- Good drafting skills with experience drafting various types of agreements and managing the whole end-to-end process of data protection.
- Ability to prioritise, work effectively under pressure and manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail
